The Cultural Hub appoints a Technical Director and Senior Producer.
HOME, Manchester’s new culture hub, has announced the appointment of Jasper Gilbert as Technical Director and Head of Production and Kevin Jamieson as Senior Producer: Theatre.
Both will be involved in delivering the artistic aims of the organisation, with Jasper Gilbert working across theatre, visual art and film, and Kevin Jamieson on HOME’s theatre programme. They will work closely with Walter Meierjohann, Artistic Director: Theatre, Sarah Perks, Artistic Director: Visual Arts, and the soon to be appointed Artistic Director: Film.
Jasper Gilbert comes to HOME from the Nottingham Playhouse, where as production manager he has produced and co-produced with theatres across the UK since 2010. Before Nottingham Playhouse, Jasper worked extensively with the Royal Shakespeare Company. There, he worked as Stage Manager, Tour Manager and Production Manager in both London and Stratford. As Production Manager for The Company’s Regional Tour, Jasper expanded the company’s touring brief across Europe into the Far East and the USA.
He has also worked as Technical Director for University Musical Society in Ann Arbor, USA, with ITV, as Technical Production Manager with the Liverpool Culture Company to produce the European City of Culture and as Technical Director at the Theatre Royal Plymouth.
Kevin Jamieson joins HOME from Harrogate Theatre, where he has been Executive Producer for the past 10 years. At Harrogate, Kevin has worked with over 20 associate companies to develop more than 60 new productions as well as overseeing Harrogate Theatre’s produced and visiting productions. He has developed Harrogate Comedy Festival, now regarded as one of the leading comedy festivals in the country and 2s Company, an annual mini festival of intimate shows for small audiences in unusual environments. Kevin has also worked at Wakefield Theatres and West Yorkshire Playhouse.
HOME is a new cultural centre for Manchester, opening in spring 2015, which will produce and present a programme of contemporary visual art, film and theatre. Formed from the merger of two of Manchester’s cultural organisations, Cornerhouse and the Library Theatre Company, HOME’s programme will directly involve artists and audiences.
