Casting has been announced for Saxon Court, a new play by Daniel Andersen about the financial crisis that premieres at Southwark Playhouse next month.

The cast will be led by Debra Baker (PhoneShop) as Donna Saxon, alongside Adam Brown (Ori the dwarf in The Hobbit trilogy), John Pickard (2.4 Children, Hollyoaks), Sophie Ellerby (This Is England), Scott Hazell (Mudlarks) and Alice Franklin (Sadie J).

Billed as a "razor sharp satirical comedy to darken your Christmas", the play centres on the ruthless boss of a financial recruitment company at the height of the 2011 banking crisis.

Directed by Melanie Spencer for Made By Brick, Saxon Court marks Andersen's playwriting debut. It runs at Southwark from 24 November to 13 December 2014 (previews from 19 November).
