Graeae Theatre Company and Theatre Royal Plymouth will co-produce a new revival of Winsome Pinnock's One Under this autumn.

Pinnock, who won the Alfred Fagon Award in 2018, will rewrite and reimagine the piece, which will feature a cast of disabled and non-disabled performers with all performances creatively integrating audio description and captioning.

Direction is by Amit Sharma and the show was commissioned by Ramps on the Moon. Casting and further members of the creative team are to be announced for the production, which is presented in association with Curve, Leicester.

One Under first premiered at the Tricycle Theatre (now the Kiln) in 2005, and follows a train driver who investigates the life of a boy who jumps in front of his train.

The 2019 production will open at Theatre Royal Plymouth on 17 October before visiting Curve Leicester, New Wolsey Ipswich, Leeds Playhouse, Live Theatre Newcastle, Unity Theatre Liverpool, Birmingham Rep and Salisbury Playhouse.

It marks the latest collaboration between Graeae and Theatre Plymouth, following their award-winning The Secret Life of Sugar Water written by Jack Thorne.

Pinnock said: "I've long admired Graeae's mission and aesthetic, and have always wanted to work with them. I am excited to be working with Amit on exploring the world that the characters inhabit and I'm really looking forward to seeing how new audiences up and down the country will respond to the play."
