Getting to Know You: Back to the Future’s new Marty McFly

Exclusive: This morning new casting was revealed for the WhatsOnStage Award-winning Back to the Future: The Musical, which you can read about here.

Set to lead the company from 14 August 2024 will be recent Institute of the Arts Barcelona graduate Vasco Emauz, who will be making his professional and West End debut in the coveted role of Marty McFly.

We recently sat down with the newcomer for our very first edition of a new series we’re calling “Getting to Know You”, where we introduce fresh faces about to make a big impact on UK stages.

Back to the Future: The Musical features a book by Bob Gale and a score by multi-Grammy Award winners Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard, alongside classic songs from the movie, including “The Power of Love” and “Johnny B. Goode.”

The show is directed by Tony Award-winning director John Rando (Urinetown, On The Town), alongside the multi-Tony and Olivier Award-winning design team of Tim Hatley (set and costume design), Tim Lutkin (lighting), Hugh Vanstone (lighting consultant), Gareth Owen (sound) and Finn Ross (video), with choreography by Chris Bailey, musical supervision and arrangements by Nick Finlow and Illusions by Chris Fisher. Orchestrations are by Ethan Popp and Bryan Crook, with dance arrangements by David Chase. Casting is by David Grindrod for Grindrod Burton Casting.
