Tim Rice musical From Here to Eternity has brought forward its closing date and will now shutter on 29 March 2014 following a six month run at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

The WhatsOnStage Award-nominated show had previously posted notices for the end of its booking period on 26 April.

The world premiere production opened to mixed reviews at the Shaftesbury on 23 October 2013 (previews from 30 September).

From Here to Eternity, which is adapted from James Jones' 1951 novel, features lyrics by Rice, music by newcomer Stuart Brayson and a book by Bill Oakes.

It follows the lives and loves of a group of soldiers stationed on the Hawaiian island of Oahu in 1941, before and during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour which led to the US engagement in the Second World War.

The musical is directed by Tamara Harvey, designed by Soutra Gilmour and choreographed by Javier De Frutos.

It stars Darius Campbell (formerly Danesh) as Warden, Robert Lonsdale as Prewitt, Rebecca Thornhill as Karen, Siubhan Harrison as Lorene and Ryan Sampson as Maggio.
