The new Tim Rice musical From Here to Eternity has posted closing notices for April at the West End's Shaftesbury Theatre, according to today's Daily Mail. The world premiere production opened on 23 October 2013 (previews from 30 September). On the show website, it is currently booking until 26 April 2014.

From Here to Eternity, which is adapted from James Jones' 1951 novel, features lyrics by Rice, music by newcomer Stuart Brayson and a book by Bill Oakes. It follows the lives and loves of a group of soldiers stationed on the Hawaiian island of Oahu in 1941, before and during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour which led to the US engagement in the Second World War.

The musical is directed by Tamara Harvey, designed by Soutra Gilmour and choreographed by Javier De Frutos. It starsDarius Campbell (formerly Danesh) as Warden, Robert Lonsdale as Prewitt, Rebecca Thornhill as Karen, Siubhan Harrison as Lorene and Ryan Sampson as Maggio.

From Here to Eternity was also famously made into the 1953 Oscar-winning film directed by Fred Zinnemann, and starring Montgomery Clift (as Prewitt), Burt Lancaster, Frank Sinatra, Deborah Kerr and Donna Reed.

The Chichester Festival revival of The Pajama Game has been tipped to follow From Here to Eternity at the Shaftesbury Theatre, opening in May, according to the Daily Mail.
