The National Theatre have launched a ten part podcast series
The National Theatre has launched a new ten-part podcast series which features the Labour MP and previous leader of the opposition Ed Miliband.
The series focuses on current social and cultural questions, using theatre as a springboard for debate. The inaugural podcast asks How can theatre respond to Brexit? and looks in depth at the development of Rufus Norris' latest production My Country: a work in progress. Miliband shares his thoughts on the piece and discusses divisions in the country following the referendum vote.
The NT's second in the series will be released on 2 June and looks at the work of the Synergy Theatre project, which uses theatre to rehabilitate prisoners and ex-offenders.
Harriet Walter will feature in a podcast about reinventing traditional male roles as women and one will explore the history of LGBTQ+ on stage.

Future episodes will look at public art and performance, theatre for young people, the relationship between actor and audience, and how productions recover from the unexpected live on stage.
