With theatre fans currently starved of a new TV talent show search, Any Dream Will Do‘s Craig Chalmers is back in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

With the box office still ringing for Oliver! in the West End and the Connie Fisher led hit, The Sound Of Music on its way to Manchester, reality TV casting seems as good for box office as ever before.

Sales of the previous Joseph tour which starred both Craig Chalmers and Keith Jack also outstripped predictions in Manchester, last year. Therefore, Bill Kenwright bought the show back last October. It now returns for a third time this October. The show opens at the Palace Theatre on Monday, 19th October and plays for another week.

Chalmers returns to the lead role. Craig, chosen from tens of thousands, charmed audiences week after week with his vocal talents and finished in the top five.

First seen in 1968 as a 15-minute ‘pop cantata’ written for a London school’s end of term concert, Joseph has gone on to become one of the world’s most established and successful musicals.

This production has won a spot in The Guinness Book of Records as the longest-running touring stage musical of all time, having toured theatres around for over 20 years.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, is directed by Bill Kenwright with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
