A programme of workshops and post-show discussions has been announced to accompany Clarkston during its final weeks at the Trafalgar Theatre.

The events are presented in partnership with ATG Entertainment’s West End Creative Learning initiative and will run through to 22 November.

Workshops will be led by members of the Clarkston creative team and offer insight into areas such as stage and company management, the work of associates and understudies, and approaches to interpreting and directing scenes. The sessions are designed for education and community groups, who can also access discounted tickets to see the production.

A series of post-show Q&As will take place alongside the run, featuring special guest hosts including Tia Kofi and Mason Alexander Park, with further names to be confirmed. Discussions will explore topics such as preparing for a role, making a West End debut, and the cast’s experiences working on Clarkston.

The full programme of events is as follows:

30 October – Post-show talk hosted by Tia Kofi: How to prepare for a role with the cast of Clarkston
3 November – Post-show talk: The cast on Clarkston
5 November – Post-show talk hosted by Mason Alexander Park: Q&A with the cast of Clarkston
10 November – Post-show talk: West End debuts – routes to West End theatre
12 November (10.30am–12pm) – Workshop: Creating company – the role of associates and understudies
17 November – Post-show talk: The cast on Clarkston
18 November (1pm–3pm) – Workshop: Making magic behind the scenes – an insight into stage management and company management
19 November (11am–1pm) – Workshop: Acting for stage – interpreting and directing scenes

The initiative forms part of Creative Careers Month, which aims to widen access to creative industries. ATG Entertainment’s senior creative learning manager Conor Hunt said the partnership was about creating opportunities for students, community organisations, and audiences “curious about exploring new and meaningful ways to engage with the show and its creatives.”
