Cirque du Soleil's Quidam adds ten performances to 2014 Royal Albert Hall run

Cirque du Soleil's has added a further ten performances of Quidam to its season at the Royal Albert Hall in the new year. The limited engagement will now run from 4 January through to 16 February 2014, rather than 9 February.

The show, first seen in Montreal in 1996, will welcome its three millionth London patron during the run, according to press material.

Quidam features an international cast of 45 acrobats from 19 countries, including the award winning acts Banquine, in which 15 artists perform synchronized sequences of acrobatics and human pyramids and Aerial Contortion in Silk, suspended high above the stage.

Other acts include Aerial Hoops, Rope Skipping, Diablo and Juggling. The production is directed by Franco Dragone.

Cirque du Soleil, which was founded in 1996, has been seen in more than 300 cities in over 40 countries on six continents. The company hit headlines in June when a performer was killed during a performance of Ka in Las Vegas.

Separate to Quidam, as reported last week, Cirque du Soleil will launch a UK arena tour in the spring of another one of its hits, Dralion, including dates in June at London’s O2 Arena.
