Christopher Eccleston and Niamh Cusack rehearse RSC's Macbeth – exclusive first look

Images have been released showing Christopher Eccleston, Niamh Cusack and the cast of Macbeth in rehearsals.

Most of the images were taken by Sophie Teasdale, winner of the RSC's young photographer competition.

Directed by Polly Findlay, the RSC production stars Eccleston and Cusack as Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. They are joined by David Acton (Duncan), Raphael Sowole (Banquo), Edward Bennett (Macduff), Bally Gill (Ross), Luke Newberry (Malcolm), Tim Samuels (Lennox) and Mariam Haque (Lady MacDuff).

The cast is completed by Donna Banya, Stevie Basaula, Katy Brittain, Raif Clarke, Paul Dodds, Michael Hodgson, John Macaulay, Tom Padley, Josh Finan and Afolabi Alli.

Macbeth runs at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre from 20 March to 18 September with previews from 13 March.
