Kevin Elyot's last play before his death in 2014 received its premiere at the Park Theatre this week.

The cast includes Adam Garcia, Paul Higgins, Bryony Hannah, Hugh Ross and Philip Bretherton. They celebrated the opening night at the after party with stars including Christopher Eccleston, Laura Carmichael, Jemima Rooper and Hannah and Kara Tointon.

The story switches between the 60s and the present, following the life of Isabelle (Hannah) whose life is filled with regrets and missed chances and her son Barry (Paul Higgins) her unloved gay son.

In her review of the show for WhatsOnStage, Emily Jupp said: "You sense that Elyot was trying to cram a lot of life lessons into one play but the overriding message is that no-one is really able to be their true selves, hemmed in by the decisions they've made."

Twilight Song runs at the Park Theatre until 12 August.
