Big musical to transfer to the Dominion Theatre in the West End

The musical is based on the much-loved film of the same name

Big the Musical will run in the West End later this year, it has been confirmed.

Based on the hit 1988 film of the same name starring Tom Hanks, the show follows a 12 year-old boy, Josh, who is trapped in an adult’s body. It has songs by David Shire and Richard Maltby and book by John Wiedman.

Directed and choreographed by Morgan Young, the West End show will star Jay McGuinness as Josh, with further casting to be confirmed. McGuinness is currently appearing in Rip It Up at the Garrick Theatre, and won Strictly Come Dancing in 2015.

The production, which originally ran at Theatre Royal Plymouth, will have design and costume design by Simon Higlett, associate choreography by Helen Rymer, musical
supervision by Stuart Morley, lighting design by Tim Lutkin, video design by Ian Galloway, and sound design by Terry Jardine and Avgoustos Psillas.

Big will run from 6 September to 2 November at the Dominion Theatre with tickets available via a pre-sale now

The piece will have a gala night to support Make-A-Wish on 17 September.
