Breach Theatre's hit historical drama It's True, It's True, It's True is to head out on tour.

The courtroom drama opened at the Edinburgh Festival last year and will return this year as part of the British Council Showcase. It will then tour to 13 cities in the UK, with more to be announced.

The piece is based on transcripts taken from the 1612 trail of Agostino Tassi, who was accused of raping fellow painter Artemisia Gentileschi while he was tutoring her at her father's house.

The all female cast uses modern language to tell the tale, which ultimately asks, how much has changed in the past 400 years?

The show garnered a four-star review from WhatsOnStage at the Edinburgh Festival last year, with Sarah Crompton calling the piece 'brilliant'.

The show heads to cities including Manchester, Doncaster, London, Newcastle, York, Halifax and Oxford.
