Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Producers star Matthew Broderick will make his West End debut in The Starry Messenger at Wyndham's Theatre in May.

Kenneth Lonergan's (Manchester By The Sea) piece, which first premiered off-Broadway ten years ago where it also starred Broderick, follows a desensitised man, Mark Williams, who is obsessed by the cosmos. Williams' life is then disrupted by an unexpected catastrophe.

Starring alongside Broderick will be Elizabeth McGovern, who has appeared in the likes of Downton Abbey and The Handmaid's Tale. The show will have direction by Sam Yates (The Phlebotomist, Glengarry Glen Ross), with set and costume design by Chiara Stephenson and sound and music by Alex Baranowski.

The show runs from 16 May to 10 August, with further casting to be announced.
