Joe McElderry, Neil McDermott and Emily Tierney to star in Club Tropicana musical tour
The new musical is a mix between Love Island and '80s classics
Casting has been announced for the UK tour of Club Tropicana, which opens on 24 January next year at Churchill Theatre Bromley.
The new musical, written by Michael Gyngell, is set in Club Tropicana Hotel, where the drinks are free and romance is in the air. The piece features a soundtrack of smash-hit pop classics performed live on stage.
Appearing in the show are Joe McElderry (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), Neil McDermott (Eugenius!, EastEnders), Kate Robbins (Spitting Image), Emily Tierney (Wicked) and former Sugababes star Amelie Berrabah, who makes her professional stage debut in the production.
The cast is completed by Karina Hind, Calvin Hudson, Cellen Chugg Jones, Megan Louch, Rebecca Mendoza, Alexanda O'Reilly, Joshua Pearson, Rory Phelan, Nye Rees, Camilla Rowland, Christina Shand, Courtney-Brogan Smalley, Tara Verloop and Kane Verrall.
Songs in the musical include "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun", "Take On Me", "Just Can't Get Enough", "Oops Upside Your Head", "The Look of Love", "Making Your Mind Up" and "Relax".
Club Tropicana is directed by Samuel Holmes and Nick Winston, with choreography by Winston, set and costume design by Diego Pitarch, lighting design by Tim Deiling, sound design by Ben Harrison, musical supervision and arrangements by Greg Arrowsmith and musical direction by Charlie Ingles.
