Cast joining Joanne Froggatt in Alys, Always at the Bridge Theatre announced

Lucinda Coxon adapts the hit debut novel from Harriet Lane

Further casting has been announced for Lucinda Coxon's stage adaptation of Harriet Lane's Alys, Always at the Bridge Theatre.

Joining the previously announced Joanne Froggatt and Robert Glenister in the show will be Danny Ashok (Guards at the Taj) as Sid, Joanna David (Absolute Hell) as Charlotte, Leah Gayer (making her professional debut) as Polly, Simon Manyonda (Barber Shop Chronicles) as Oliver, Sylvestra Le Touzel (Hogarth's Progress) as Mary/Audrey, Jeff Rawle (Allelujah!) as Robin/Mr Thorpe, Vineeta Rishi (Who Cares) as Julia Price, Sue Wallace (Allelujah!) as Mrs Thorpe and Sam Woolf (Antony and Cleopatra) as Teddy.

Lane's 2012 debut novel follows a journalist, Frances, who discovers an upturned car and waits for the ambulances to arrive with the injured driver. Coxon's previous credits include Herding Cats and the screenplay for The Danish Girl.

The piece is directed by the venue's artistic director Nick Hytner and has set design by Bob Crowley with costume designs by Christina Cunningham, lighting by Jon Clark, music by Grant Olding, sound by Gareth Fry and video designs by Luke Halls. It runs from 25 February to 30 March.
