July 1999 - The Welsh College of Music and Drama (WCMD) is set to become one of the UK's leading providers of high-quality training for the performing arts, following a decision by the Higher Education Funding Council of Wates (HEFCW) to invest in the College. For the first time, WCMD will receive funding on a par with similar conservatoires in England and Scotland.
