Full casting has been announced for Samuel Hodges' upcoming revival of Peter Morgan's award-winning play The Audience, based on the conversations between Queen Elizabeth II and her Prime Ministers.

Joining the previously announced Faye Castelow as Elizabeth II in the production at Nuffield Southampton Theatres will be Lizzie Hopley (Six Characters in Search of an Author) as Margaret Thatcher and Bobo MacDonald, Paul Kemp (Imperium) as all the male Prime Ministers, Sharon Singh (Arabian Nights) as The Equerry and Fay Burwell and Maddie Farmer sharing the role of Young Elizabeth.

Hodges said: "This is a play that interrogates where power lies. Is it in the parade of middle aged, almost entirely male prime ministers or the unchanging, unwavering woman they meet with? For that reason I knew I wanted to cast one actor to play all of the male PMs from the start."

The regional premiere The Audience will run from 24 May to 22 June, and has design by Rosanna Vize, sound by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite, lighting by Jackie Shemesh and movement direction by Tom Jackson Greaves.
