Young Vic announces final shows in 2026/2027 season including The Pelicot Trial and A Hunger Artist

The Young Vic Theatre has revealed the final four shows of the 2026/2027 season from artistic director and CEO Nadia Fall.

Highlights include the UK premiere of Milo Rau and Servane Dècle’s The Pelicot Trial, which will be performed at London County Hall, home to Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution. The documentary theatre piece comprises testimonies and written accounts from the trial, police files, social commentary and psychiatric reports of the 51 men who were prosecuted as part of Gisèle Pelicot’s case.

Performed by a company of 30 actors and public figures, the one-off event is a statement on the prevalence of sexual violence and its legal treatment and pays tribute to an ordinary woman who sparked a global reckoning. It will take place on 30 November.

Franz Kafka’s short story A Hunger Artist will star former Royal Ballet principal Edward Watson and Meow Meow in the Maria Theatre from 9 to 26 June 2027. Reuniting the team behind the Olivier Award-winning dance adaptation of The Metamorphoses, choreographer Arthur Pita directs, with live music by Frank Moon.

Multi-award-winning disability-led theatre company FlawBored will present the London premiere of their new show What’s the F**king Point?. It is written by Samuel Brewer, Aarian Mehrabani, Chloe Palmer and Josh Roche, who also directs. A dark satire, the piece skewers medical bureaucracy, identity politics and the desperate human need to feel significant. It will be performed in the Maria Theatre, from 2 to 24 April 2027.

Outside the Young Vic on The Cut from 24 March to 24 April, DARKFIELD will present Eulogy, transporting audiences to an otherworldly hotel using binaural sound and speech recognition.

Milo Rau’s extraordinary testimonial piece The Pelicot Trial breaks out beyond our theatre walls to County Hall; a piece of confronting event-theatre which bears witness to the harrowing story of Gisele Pelicot.

“We also join forces with the ever-innovative DARKFIELD to present their binaural piece Eulogy which is conjured up in the pitch darkness of a shipping container parked outside The Young Vic.

“Meanwhile, in our Maria Studio, we have What’s the F**king Point, a new satire by the mischievous and subversive FlawBored theatre company, and A Hunger Artist, which brings the latest collaboration between choreographer Arthur Pita, prolific dancer Ed Watson and Australian cabaret star Meow Meow in this physical retelling of Kafka’s twisted tale. Nothing about these pieces are ‘meat and two veg’ trad-theatre!”

In addition, the Young Vic has announced The Directors’ Cut, a pathway designed to offer support and opportunities for directors at every stage of their careers, and has expanded its Neighbourhood Theatre programme.
