Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis’s musical Warriors will open on Broadway in spring 2027.
The show begins previews at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in March, with an opening night set for April. Tickets go on sale in October 2026, with advance sign-up available via the production’s website.
Directed by Jenny Koons, with Andy Blankenbuehler as co-director and choreographer, the piece follows a New York City gang travelling from Coney Island to the Bronx and back after being accused of killing a gang leader named Cyrus. It is based on the Paramount Pictures film and Sol Yurick’s novel, with stage rights licensed by Paramount Products & Experiences.
The producing team includes Thomas Kail, Miranda, Luis A Miranda Jr and Jeffrey Seller. The design team comprises scenic designer David Korins, costume designer Dede Ayite, lighting designer Natasha Katz, sound designer Jason Crystal and projection designer Hana S Kim, with music supervision by Kurt Crowley and orchestrations by Crowley, Scott Wasserman and Mike Elizondo.
The project began as a concept album released in October 2024, executive produced by Nas and produced by Mike Elizondo. Contributors to the recording included Ms Lauryn Hill, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Marc Anthony, Billy Porter, Ghostface Killah, RZA, Colman Domingo, Cam’ron and Kim Dracula. The album reached number one on the Billboard Compilation Album chart in its first week.
