The nominees of this year’s awards have been revealed
The nominees for this year's South Bank Sky Arts Awards have been revealed.
In the theatre category, the London productions of Sondheim's musical Company, Lynn Nottage's Pulitzer-winning Sweat and Matthew Lopez's The Inheritance are all nominated, while the two creators of Six – Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow, were nominated for The Times Breakthrough Award.
In opera, Welsh National Opera's Rhondda Rips It Up!, English National Opera's Porgy and Bess and Garsington Opera's Falstaff are all nominated, with Nadine Benjamin nominated for the Breakthrough Award. For dance, Corybantic Games by Christopher Wheeldon for the The Royal Ballet, Playlist (Track 1, 2) by William Forsythe for English National Ballet and Akram Khan Company's XENOS all compete.
Elsewhere, the TV drama category nominees are Patrick Melrose, A Very English Scandal and Killing Eve. The film category features Beast, They Shall Not Grow Old, and The Favourite, with Inside No. 9, Derry Girls and Hang Ups competing in the comedy category.
Other breakthrough award nominees include Alpesh Chauhan, Jessie Cave, Joseph Sissens, Jessie Buckley, Anna-Marie Crowhurst, Freya Ridings, Chance Perdomo and Haroon Mirza.
The awards will announce this year's outstanding achievement award on the night, with previous winners including Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sylvie Guillem, Tracey Emin, Judi Dench and JK Rowling.
The winners will be revealed on Sunday 7 July at a ceremony at the Savoy.
