Tony Awards 2019: Hadestown, The Ferryman, Ink and Ruth Wilson among nominees

The Tony Awards nominees for 2019 have been revealed.

Anaïs Mitchell's Hadestown, which first premiered at London's National Theatre, leads the pack with 14 nominations, including Best Musical, Best Actress in a Musical, and Best Original Score.

The Ferryman has been nominated for nine awards, while the Almeida's Ink has picked up six nominations. Elsewhere, Ain't Too Proud and Tootsie also scored a lot of nominations.

Brits have performed well across the board, with James Graham and Jez Butteworth's plays, Ink and The Ferryman nominated for Best New Play, while actors including Paddy Considine, Ruth Wilson and Janet McTeer have been nominated for acting awards. Directors including Rupert Goold, Sam Mendes and more were also nominated.
