Our guide to the shows to surprise your mum with this Mother’s Day
Christopher Boone is a 15-year old on the hunt for answers surrounding the mysterious death of a neighbour's dog. His journey takes him to places he never expected to end up, and tests his relationship with both of his parents.
With some stunning visual effects, the play looks at how autism can affect family life. The West End run winds up in June, but the play is touring the UK to a theatre near you.

WhatsOnStage Award winner Charlie Stemp takes the lead in this all-singing, all-dancing musical. The show was originally written as a vehicle for the '50s pop star Tommy Steele, and he starred in the film adaptation in 1967. You're mum will know numbers like "Flash Bang Wallop", "Money to Burn" and the title track.

Alfie Boe returns to the West End in a semi-staged version of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s musical. Alongside Katherine Jenkins, Boe plays Billy Bigelow, a carousel barker who attempts a robbery to provide for his partner Julie. It features the classic song "You'll Never Walk Alone" – can you think of anyone better to belt it out than Boe?

Carole King wrote some of the most recognisable pop songs ever: "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow", "Up on the Roof", "Locomotion", "One Fine Day", "You've Got a Friend" and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman". Beautiful tells the story of the life of the singer, with Cassidy Janson taking on the lead role.
If you didn't get the chance to see King's huge Hyde Park concert last year, this is the perfect remedy.

Amanda Holden, Tracy-Ann Oberman and Natalie Casey play just a few of the amateur dancers at a weekly tap class. Holden's Vera is the odd one out – a tad stuck-up, shall we say? – but the group have to pull together if they have any chance at the local community revue.
It might also be the perfect opportunity to tell mum you've signed her up for the local dance class.

Fresh from a run on Broadway, Christopher Wheeldon's dazzling production follows ballet student Lise and the three men after her heart. It stars Robert Fairchild, a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, and Leanne Cope, a first artist for The Royal Ballet.
It opened this week and if the reviews are anything to go by, "S'Wonderful".

Gary Barlow and Tim Firth have taken on the story of the Calendar Girls; a WI group who get their kit off and pose for a nude calendar to raise funds for charity. The Take That singer has penned a bunch of brilliant new songs for the show, and it stars Joanna Riding and Claire Moore.
It might even inspire your mum and her friends to shoot their own calendar! How great would that be?!
