Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton will direct two shows at Soho Theatre in 2027.
The Oh, Mary!, Rocky Horror Show and Ceilidh director is collaborating with former child magician and current American comedian Josh Sharp, who returns to the venue.
An Hour of Crowd Work in the Round will run at Soho Theatre Upstairs from 16 to 27 February. The piece, described as a comedy experiment of sorts, asks what the audience does for work and requires a healthy dose of audience participation. It was first seen in the UK as part of the Shedinburgh programme.
Following a run at Soho’s Main House, ta-da! will play for one night at Soho Theatre Walthamstow. In it, Sharp runs through a manic 2000-slide PowerPoint, having memorised a slide every 2.1 seconds. It will be performed on 6 March.
Alongside Pinkleton on the creative team for ta-da! is co-video designer Stivo Arnoczy, magic by Skylar Fox, incidental music by Daniel Kluger, key artwork and font design by Teddy Blanks and CHIPS, off-Broadway set designer Meredith Ries, off-Broadway lighting designer Cha Se and producers Carlee Briglia, who also produces An Hour of Crowd Work in the Round, and Mike Lavoie.
