Full casting has been announced for The Rubenstein Kiss, which opens at Southwark Playhouse in March.

Ruby Bentall (Poldark, David Copperfield) will star as Esther Rubenstein in the new revival of the 2005 play, opposite Henry Proffit (For King and Country) as her husband Jakob.

They are joined by Sean Rigby (Endeavour) as David Girshfeld, Stephen Billington (Armchair Detectives) as Paul Cranmer and Dario Coates (Damned) as Matthew. Completing the cast are Katie Eldred as Anna, and Eva-Jane Willis as Rachel Girshfeld.

Directed by Joe Harmston (The Lover and The Collection), the piece has set design by Sean Cavanagh, sound design by Matthew Bugg, lighting design by Mike Robertson, and casting by Kate Plantin.

It follows the devoted Jewish family the Rubensteins and is inspired by the true story of Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, who were executed in 1953 for allegedly leaking atomic secrets to the Soviet Union. Phillips' piece first opened at Hampstead Theatre starring Gary Kemp and Samantha Bond.

The Rubenstein Kiss runs at Southwark Playhouse from 14 March to 13 April.
