Paranormal Activity extends West End run into 2027

Paranormal Activity will extend its West End run at the Ambassadors Theatre for a fifth time.

The extension comes as the stage adaptation has opened for a 20-week Broadway season at the August Wilson Theatre, following a North American tour. The production also begins a UK and Ireland tour at Richmond Theatre this week.

The West End production stars Ty Fanning as James, Ami Okumura Jones as Lou, Kirsty Bushell as Etheline Cotgrave and Pippa Winslow as Carolanne.

The new booking period runs from 9 November 2026 to 2 January 2027, following the production’s reopening for a second West End season.

The production is directed by Felix Barrett, founder and artistic director of Punchdrunk, and written by Levi Holloway, whose credits include Grey House.

The creative team includes Fly Davis as set and costume designer, Chris Fisher as illusions designer, Anna Watson as lighting designer, Gareth Fry as sound designer, Luke Halls as video designer, Stuart Burt and Ginny Schiller as casting directors, and Anna Marshall as associate director.

The production originally ran at Leeds Playhouse before transferring to the West End, where it played at the Ambassadors Theatre from 5 December 2025 to 25 April 2026.

It subsequently toured North America, visiting Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Center Theatre Group and the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC, American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre in Toronto and Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston, before beginning its Broadway run on 14 August 2026.

The original Paranormal Activity film was released by Paramount Pictures in 2009 and was followed by six further films.

Paranormal Activity is produced by Simon Friend and Hanna Osmolska for Melting Pot in association with Gavin Kalin, Ken Davenport, Jenny King, Patrick Gracey, Jonathan and Rae Corr and Leeds Playhouse.

The production is recommended for ages 15 and over, because it is terrifying.
