The musical is inspired by a recording session featuring the likes of Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash
Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp and stage veteran Peter Duncan will share the role of record producer Sam Phillips in the upcoming tour of Million Dollar Quartet.
The pair reunite following last year's tour and run at the Southbank Centre. Duncan, best known as a presenter of Blue Peter, began his stage career in Laurence Olivier's National Theatre company at the Old Vic and has credits including The Card (Olivier Award nominee) and the lead in Barnum.
Kemp's acting credits include EastEnders and The Krays, and last year he starred in the UK tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Further casting is yet to be announced.
Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux's musical is inspired by the true story of a recording session during which Phillips brought together Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley. It includes the hit songs "Blue Suede Shoes", "I Walk the Line" and "Great Balls of Fire".
Million Dollar Quartet will open in York on 18 September before continuing to Hornchurch, Cheltenham, High Wycombe, Inverness, Edinburgh, Eastbourne, Poole and Ipswich.
