The ”Guardian” critic will receive a special award at this year’s ceremony
Guardian critic and journalist Lyn Gardner is to be honored at the UK Theatre Awards this year.
Gardner will be awarded the Outstanding Contribution to British Theatre at the awards, which take place on 15 October.
Gardner was a founding member of City Limits, a London-based listings magazine in the '80s, and she has since worked extensively at the Guardian as well as penning children's books. She was appointed associate editor at The Stage earlier this year, following the cancellation of her theatre blog contract with the Guardian.
The nominations for this year's UK Theatre Awards include Everybody's Talking About Jamie, Caroline, Or Change, and Sweet Charity competing for Best Musical Production.
The UK Theatre Awards are nationwide awards which honour outstanding achievements in regional theatre in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
