Mear said: "I am so thrilled to be directing and choreographing Little Shop of Horrors at the fabulous Storyhouse, it's my first time at this beautiful theatre and I can't wait to get started."

The production has design by Jess Curtin, musical direction by Alex Beetschen, lighting by Tim Lutkin, sound by Ben Harrison and assistant direction by Lucy Thatcher.

Howard Ashman and Alan Menken's classic musical is set on Skid Row and follows an alien plant that manages to take over the world. Songs in the musical include "Grow for Me", "Feed Me", "Somewhere That's Green" and "Suddenly Seymour".

Little Shop of Horrors runs from 10 May to 2 June.
