Matthew Bourne's Cinderella had its opening night at Sadler's Wells last night, just in time for Christmas.

The stars came out in droves to celebrate the occasion, with big names present including Matt Smith, Lily James, David Walliams, Douglas Booth, Bruno Tonioli as well as a number of Strictly contestants.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the production stars Ashley Shaw and Cordelia Braithwaite as Cinderella, with Will Bozier, Andrew Monaghan and Dominic North as her beau Harry.

After its run in London, the show will embark on a UK tour in 2018. It was also recently announced that Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake will return next Christmas.

The piece has lighting by Olivier Award winner Neil Austin and sound design by Paul Groothuis, and features a specially commissioned surround sound score played by a 60-piece orchestra.

Cinderella runs at Sadler's Wells until 27 January ahead of its UK tour.
