The recent film of Jason Robert Brown's musical The Last Five Years will play the Empire cinema in Leicester Square next month ahead of a DVD release.

Starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan, the film was released in the States last September in a limited number of cinemas.

The exclusive run at the Empire, Leicester Square will be on screen for a week from 17 April 2015.

The Last Five Years centres on a couple – a writer and an actress – reflecting on their five-year relationship, from first meeting to breaking up.

The story tells Cathy's (Kendrick) side of the story in reverse order, starting from the end of their marriage, while Jamie's (Jordan) version of events begins when the couple first meets.

The film version is directed by previous Acadamy Award nominee Richard LaGravenese (The Fisher King).

Tickets for the Empire screening are now available.
