Past ”Art” actors joined the current cast at the opening of the show at the Old Vic
Actors and directors celebrated the opening night of Matthew Warchus' production of Art at the Old Vic last night.
Previous Art stars including Roger Allam, Henry Goodman and Frank Skinner, turned up to support the current cast – Rufus Sewell, Paul Ritter and Tim Key.
Yasmina Reza's play originally opened in the West End in 1996, directed by Warchus. The cast included Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay and Ken Stott and the show ran for eight years, winning the Olivier Award for Best New Comedy.
The piece is set in an apartment where three friends discuss whether an expensive artwork Serge has just bought – ostensibly a blank canvas – is actually art.
Art runs at the Old Vic until 18 February 2017.
