The Hope Mill Theatre's production of Pippin is to run in London next year.

The production, which originally opened in August 2017 in Manchester, will run at Southwark Playhouse between 23 February and 24 March 2018.

Directed by Jonathan O'Boyle, the show has choreography from William Whelton, musical direction from Zach Flis and designs from Maeve Black.

The musical is composed by Stephen Schwartz, with a book from Roger O Hirson. Pippin is the tale of a young prince on a journey to find meaningfulness. A troupe of Victorian vaudeville players tell the story.

Pippin was originally directed by Bob Fosse and features songs including "Magic to Do" and "Corner of the Sky". It opened on Broadway in 1972 and in the West End in 1973.

Schwartz said: "I am so pleased that such a successful and well-received production of Pippin has finally happened in the UK, and I'm incredibly excited to be sharing it with a London audience."

Pippin runs from 28 February to 24 March with previews from 28 February.
