Trevor Nunn’s production of Peter Shaffer’s play opens at the Menier
Felicity Kendal and Maureen Lipman will star in the Menier's production of Lettice and Lovage when it opens in May.
Trevor Nunn will direct Peter Shaffer's play which is about Lettice, a tour guide who is caught embellishing the history of the stately home she works at. When she is fired by her boss, Lotte, the two find common ground and strike up a friendship. It will open on 17 May.
Kendal, whose credits include A Room With a View, Hay Fever and Relatively Speaking, will play Lettice and Lipman, who has previously appeared at the Menier in A Little Night Music will play Lotte.
Nunn was the youngest ever artistic director of the Royal Shakespeare Company between 1968 and 1986, and his productions include the premieres of Cats, Sunset Boulevard and Les Miserables.
Lettice and Lovage will run at the Menier Chocolate Factory from 17 May to 8 July, with previews from 4 May.
