Dates and venues announced for 2019 UK and Ireland tour of Blood Brothers

Dates, venues and casting for the 2019 spring tour of Blood Brothers have been announced.

Olivier Award-nominated actress Linzi Hateley (Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, Chicago) will star as Mrs Johnstone for the 2019 spring tour.

Joining her will be Alexander Patmore (Cilla), Joel Benedict (who returns to the musical) and Paula Tappenden (who was in the show in the West End and on tour) playing the roles of Mickey, Eddie and Mrs Lyons respectively. The trio will take on the roles from 26 February 2019.

The rest of the cast includes Robbie Scotcher, Danielle Corlass, Tim Churchill, Graham Martin, Amy Jane Ollies, Alison Crawford, Graeme Kinniburgh, Andy Owens and Josh Capper.

Willy Russell's classic musical tells the tale of two twins separated at birth only to be reunited by a twist of fate. The show originally started life as a play at a Liverpool comprehensive school. Songs include "A Bright New Day", "Marilyn Monroe" and "Tell Me It's Not True".

Bill Kenwright's production toured the UK in 2018 and will now visit Sheffield, Nottingham, Wycombe, Bournemouth, Billingham, Killarney, Castlebar, Torquay, Salford, Llandudno, Blackpool, Southsea and Leeds, where it closes on 18 May.
