Simon Russell Beale will be knighted for services to drama
Simon Russell Beale will be knighted in the Queen's Birthday Honours.
The list was announced this evening, and recognised Russell Beale for his services to drama. Beale is currently starring on the West End in the transfer of The Lehman Trilogy.
Oscar and WhatsOnStage Award winner Olivia Colman was made CBE for her services to drama, following her award-winning turn in The Favourite. Elsewhere, Alfie Boe was on the diplomatic service and overseas list and will be awarded an OBE for services to music and charity.
Cush Jumbo was recognised with an OBE for services to drama, while Sheila Atim will be awarded an MBE.
Choreographer Kate Prince has also been recognised with an MBE for services to dance, while Kelly Hunter of Flute Theatre will be awarded an MBE. Nicholas Jeffrey Thomas, the chairman and founder of Qdos was recognised with an MBE for services to the entertainment industry and charity.
Co-directors of Phoenix Theatre Clare Janette Haggart and Elizabeth Milne were also both recognised with British Empire Medals.
Names from elsewhere in the art work include Rachel Whiteread who was awarded Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, Caroline Sinclair (CBE) and Joanna Trollope (CBE).
