Company West End cast recording announced

A recording of the cast of Marianne Elliott’s production of ”Company” will be out in February

A cast recording of Marianne Elliott's production of Company is being created this weekend, it has been confirmed by production company Elliott and Harper.

The recording will feature the cast of Elliott's current revival of Stephen Sondheim and George Furst's musical, which switches the gender of the lead character Bobby to Bobbie.

The recordings are rumoured to be supervised by Stephen Sondheim and the sessions will be filmed for use in a documentary about the making of the musical. The release date for the album will be 1 February 2019.

Rosalie Craig plays Bobbie alongside Patti LuPone as Joanne, Jonathan Bailey as Jamie (originally written as Amy), as Alex Gaumond as Paul, Daisy Maywood as Susan, Mel Giedroyc as Sarah, George Blagden as PJ, Ashley Campbell as Peter, Richard Fleeshman as Andy, Richard Henders as David, Ben Lewis as Larry, Jennifer Saayeng as Jenny, Matthew Seadon-Young as Theo, Gavin Spokes as Harry, Michael Colbourne, Francesca Ellis, Ewan Gillies, Grant Neal and Jaimie Pruden.

Craig won the Evening Standard Award for Best Musical Performance for her turn as Bobbie, while Elliott won Best Director.

The show is currently running at the Gielgud Theatre in London and received rapturous applause from the critics, including a five star review from WhatsOnStage's Sarah Crompton. Company is booking until 30 March 2019.
