Bryony Lavery’s new adaptation of Graham Greene’s iconic novel embarks on a UK tour from February
Casting has been announced for the UK tour of Brighton Rock which opens at York Theatre Royal next month.
Jacob James Beswick (People, Places and Things) will play Pinkie alongside Gloria Onitiri (The Grinning Man) as Ida, Sarah Middleton (The Hypocrite) as Rose, Angela Bain (Cyrano) as Spicer, Marc Graham (All We Ever Wanted Was Everything) as Hale/Cubbitt, Chris Jack (Our Town) as Phil/Dad, Jennifer Jackson (Neverland) as Crab/Colleoni, Dorian Simpson (Persuasion) as Dallow, and Shamira Turner (Golem) as Sylvie/Prewitt.
Bryony Lavery’s new adaptation of Graham Greene’s iconic novel will be directed by Esther Richardson, with design by Sara Perks and lighting by Aideen Malone.
The Pilot Theatre and York Theatre Royal co-production will also feature an original soundtrack composed and performed live by Hannah Peel (The Magnetic North).
Brighton Rock runs at York Theatre Royal from 16 February to 3 March before touring to Brighton, Colchester, Hull, Cheltenham, Birmingham, Winchester, Watford, Newcastle, Mold, Derby and Salford.
