Acclaimed musical Britain's Got Bhangra is returning for a UK tour, in a new production opening at Manchester's Palace Theatre in September.

The show, which originally premiered in 2010, features music and Bhangra direction by Sumeet Chopra, with English Lyrics by Dougal Irvine and Punjabi lyrics by Bittu Denowalia.

Written and directed by Pravesh Kumar of Rifco Arts, Britain's Got Bhangra charts the rise of British Bhangra from the 80s to the modern day. It follows Twinkle, a farmer's son who comes to England and becomes a rising star in the British Bhangra scene.

Casting for the tour is to be announced.

David Hutchinson of Sell A Door Theatre, who is producing the show, said: "We are delighted to be opening our autumn season at Manchester Palace Theatre with this critically acclaimed smash hit musical. The writers have created a fantastic celebration of dance and culture within the modern narrative of a talented artist aspiring to fulfil their dreams."

Britain's Got Bhangra runs at the Manchester Palace Theatre from 3-12 September 2015, before touring to Bristol (14-19 September), Glasgow (21-26 September), Wimbledon (28 September – 3 October), Birmingham (12-17 October), Windsor (19-24 October), Watford (26-28 October) and Bradford (29-31 October).
