Beetlejuice: The Musical will make its long-awaited West End debut tonight!

Based on the 1988 Warner Bros. film directed by Tim Burton, the show follows teenager Lydia, who encounters a pair of recently deceased homeowners and the ghost Beetlejuice after moving into a new house.

The musical is playing at the Prince Edward Theatre, with a cast led by David Fynn in the role of the title tormenting spooky presence.

His alternate is WhatsOnStage Award nominee Tom Xander. They are joined by Hannah Nordberg as Lydia, with David Hunter as Adam Maitland, Chelsea Halfpenny as Barbara Maitland, Aimie Atkinson as Delia Schlimmer (excluding 3 August to 2 November), Alasdair Harvey as Charles Deetz.

Chasity Crisp makes her West End debut as Maxine Dean / Juno, with Otho played by Richard Frame, Maxie Deane by Irvine Iqbal, Girl Scout by Rachel Macdougall and Miss Argentina by Vanessa Aurora Sierra

The company is completed by Jemma Alexander, Samuel Bangs, Natasha Cayabyab, Chris Draper, Harley Emmitt, Catherine McCormick, Robbie McMillan, Kieran Mellish, Elliott Parry, Jacob Smith, Adam Taylor, Tyler Timmins and Issie Wilman.

Beetlejuice: The Musical is booking until 17 April 2027.

The musical features a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King, with music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect. The West End production will be directed by Alex Timbers, with choreography by Connor Gallagher. The creative team also includes scenic designer David Korins, costume designer William Ivey Long, lighting designer Kenneth Posner, sound designer Peter Hylenski and projection designer Peter Nigrini, alongside specialists in puppetry, special effects, illusions, hair, wigs and make-up. Casting is by Harry Blumenau.

The musical originally opened on Broadway in 2019, returning in 2022 following the pandemic shutdown, and has since toured extensively in the United States and played internationally in Tokyo, Seoul, Melbourne and Abu Dhabi.

The UK production is produced by Crossroads Live and Warner Bros Theatre Ventures.
