Matthew Xia's inaugural production as artistic director of ATC will be the UK premiere of Amsterdam.

The show will run at the Orange Tree Theatre from 6 September to 12 October with opening night on 11 September. The piece is Israeli playwright Maya Arad Yasur's thriller which looks at collective identity, foreignness and alienation. The piece will tour in spring 2020.

Elsewhere in the season, the venue's artistic director Paul Miller will direct a revival of Bernard Shaw's comedy Candida, which will run from 22 November to 11 January. The piece follows a power struggle between a young man, a socialist preacher and Candida who believes she has the right to run her life as she wants.

Over Christmas, there will be a run of Can't Wait for Christmas! at the theatre, directed by Imogen Bond and created by Bond and Tarek Merchant. The piece is for anyone aged 3 to 10 and their families. It opens in previews on 14 December and runs to 29 December.

As previously announced, Arinzé Kene's Little Baby Jesus will run at the theatre, directed by JMK Award-winner Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu. The piece follows the stories of three young people whose lives collide and intertwine.
