Tanya Burr, who has a sizeable following on YouTube, Twitter and Instagram, will be making her professional stage debut in the new revival of Judy Upton's Confidence this week, which opens at Southwark Playhouse's smaller space.

The production, which comes courtesy of Boundless Theatre, is expressly tailored towards bringing young people aged between 15 and 25 into the arts, especially those who have never seen a show live before.

We sit down with the company's artistic director Rob Drummer and Burr to chat about the show, what it means to bring new audiences into the fold and how venues should be approaching the issue of bringing new audiences to theatres.

Upton is an award-winning playwright and her stage plays include Ashes and Sand which won the George Devine Award and Bruises at Royal Court Theatre.
