Gordon Brown Gets a Taste of Coalition???

No, the Lib Dems haven’t suddenly reversed their decision to side with the Tories. Instead, former prime minister Gordon Brown was invited to join a coalition of a rather different kind last night (23 November 2010), when he and former Labour MP Oona King made a surprise appearance at Battersea’s Theatre503.

They were there for the opening night of Coalition, a series of short plays examining the
current political climate, written by ten writers – including Ella Hickson, Ben Ockrent, Rex Obano and theatre critic Dominic
Cavendish
– in collaboration with ten
artists from other mediums. It’s presented in two parts: a ‘Blue’ programme and a ‘Yellow’ programme, performed on alternate nights.

Theatre503 wrote on its Facebook page that they were “delighted” by the presence of King and Brown (who was there with his wife Sarah), and posted the following souvenir pic of the former PM with company members…
