Full List: Laurence Olivier Nominees Announced

The full list of nominations – who and what are up for which of the 20-plus categories, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best New Musical and Best Musical Revival as well as fields including Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre and other categories – is below.

The Olivier Awards have this year moved back to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane where this morning’s nominations announcement is taking place. Following the live streaming of last year’s awards ceremony, the event will this year receive extensive coverage on television, radio and online from the BBC. Radio 2 will also support the category for long-runners voted for by the public for the second year.

The Laurence Olivier Awards were created in 1976, then called the Society of West End Theatre Awards, to recognise excellence on the London stage. They were rebranded in 1984 when Lord Olivier agreed to have his name associated with them. Winners of the 35th annual Olivier Awards will be announced on Sunday 13 March 2011 with a preliminary lunch for nominees taking place on 22 February at the Haymarket Hotel.

Ahead of the Oliviers, our own 2011 Whatsonstage.com Awards, the “theatregoers’ choice” will be published online this Sunday 20 February 2010 to coincide with our live Awards Concert, held in aid of The Theatrical Guild at 7pm at the Prince of Wales Theatre. The concert, hosted this year by Miranda Hart, Sheridan Smith and Christopher Biggins, features a full evening’s entertainment from nominees and winners past and present as well as trophy presentations. The Whatsonstage.com Awards are the only London theatre awards in which the audience is the ultimate judge across all 26 categories. Voting for our eleventh annual awards closed on Monday 31 January.
