Owned and run by [Mike Lloyd]. In 1997 the Victoria Hall was closed for a major refit and as this meant that the company would not be able to promote in the city for at least two years, Mike decided to buy the closed Theatre Royal. After a £1.2 million refurbishment the venue re-opened in December on 1997 with a show by Cast. (This show was the first in the venues history to play with seats out in the stalls, something that the company felt was important to the Royals future as this gave the venue the ability to put on a week run with a play and follow straight up with a Rock or Pop show. 1451 seating capacity, 1900 with stalls seats out. Full flying facilities, front of house truss, full theatre lighting, house electrician, house stage manager, fully computerised box office facilities with five outlets selling across the west midlands (Hanley, Newcastle under Lyme, Stafford and Wolverhampton). Full marketing team in house, E-mailing list facilities available (Check web site for details). Logo and venue interior/exterior pictures available from website.
