The West End production of Wicked will extend until November 2019.

The show has released 500,000 new tickets for its run at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, and will now be booking until Saturday 30 November.

For anyone looking for a festive Wicked fix, the show has added five extra shows on Monday 24 December, Thursday 27 December, Friday 28 December, Sunday 30 December 2018 and Thursday 3 January 2019, all starting at 2.30pm. It will also play extra shows throughout 2019.

Wicked had its UK premiere in London in September 2006, winning four WhatsOnStage Awards that year before going on to win Best West End show on a number of occasions since.

It currently stars Alice Fearn and Sophie Evans as Elphaba and Glinda, alongside David Witts as Fiyero, Rosa O'Reilly as Nessarose and Chris Jarman as Doctor Dillamond.

Based on the best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire, which re-imagines the stories and characters created by L. Frank Baum in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Wicked tells the untold story of an unlikely friendship between Glinda The Good and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. It has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, and features the songs "Defying Gravity", "Popular" and "The Wizard and I".

It is the fifth longest running musical currently in the West End (next month it will become the 13th longest running show in West End history). <>
