ITV have confirmed viewing figures for the final episode of Mamma Mia! I Have a Dream – which was broadcast live from the Novello Theatre.

The TV talent show, which started out with 14 contestants vying for the role of Sophie and Sky in the 25th anniversary year of Mamma Mia! in the West End, culminated yesterday evening with a grand finale in the West End.

The evening saw the last four contestants – Stevie Doc, Esme Bowdler, Tobias Turley and Owen Johnston – perform a variety of ABBA tunes on stage.

The show averaged an audience of 1.5 million during the evening, reaching a high of almost 1.9 million. ITV also expects the number to rise due to the common-place use of streaming platforms, which has affected viewing habits in recent years.

The winners, Stevie Doc and Tobias Turley, will make their debut West End performances in just seven weeks’ time on Monday 29 January 2024.

It was also confirmed last night that another contestant, Zachkiel Smith, had already found a new role in the ensemble of Back to the Future the Musical, while fellow aspirant Desmonda Cathabel is currently starring in the Aladdin UK and Ireland tour.
