The Wipers Times, Ian Hislop and Nick Newman's stage adaptation of their own award-winning BBC film, transfers to the West End next March following a sold out tour.

Inspired by the true story of a satirical newspaper created during the First World War by soldiers struggling in the horrors of the trenches ("Wipers" was a mispronounciation of the French town name Ypres), the staging of the play marked the 100th centenary of the Battle of the Somme.

Caroline Leslie directs a cast comprising Kevin Brewer, James Dutton, George Kemp, Jake Morgan and Dan Testsell.

The production originally opened to rave reviews at the Watermill Theatre, Newbury in September. Read our review of the Watermill production here
