New Old Friends present a high energy, inventive and skilful production adapted from the Anthony Horowitz novel The Falcon’s Malteser. The story of Tim Diamond the hapless but endearing private investigator and his far more capable younger brother Nick is an absolute winner. They investigate a case that starts with a box of chocolates and introduces some of the most extraordinary cameo performances from Miniature Mexicans, police brutality and a hilarious car chase sequence.

Feargus Dunlop]as Tim is a wonderfully dim chap providing fine entertainment with his elastic features and well trained eyebrows. He is well supported by Tom Metcalf as Nick, the much smarter sibling whose car chase antics are a delight. The excellent team is completed by the various talents of Heather Westwell and Dan Winter; their quick change antics and dodgy accents reflecting comic talent of the highest calibre.

This production is also blessed with an intriguing vision from designer Carl Davies a series of comic book images are delivered with ease and joy. Driving this truly memorable production is the razor sharp direction of Lee Lydford the wit and sheer pace is exhilarating, the barmy fun never failing to hit the spot. An absolute treat for old and young alike don’t miss it.
